John Easlick (1793-1881), who was married to David's daughter Margaret, served as a Private,  in 1814,
in the NY Militia during the War of 1812 (Steuben County).

John's brother Cornelius Eastlick (1785-1880), also served as a Private in 1813-1814, in  the NY Militia
(Steuben County) during the War of 1812.  Their sister, Betsy Easlick (1795-1879), married John Osborn
(1790-1863) in 1814,  and who also served in the War of 1812 as a musician in the NY Militia (Seneca
County).

John Eastlick's son David had son Isaiah (1835-1870) who served as a Private in Company E, 26th Ohio
Infantry in 1861 and died in 1870 from lingering effects of wounds and sickness suffered in West
Virginia. David's son William J. Easlick (1839-1899) served as Sergeant first in the B Co., of the Fourth
MI Inf and later as Sergeant with Co., I, 15th MI Infantry. He was discharged for disability suffered at
Miner's Hill, VA in 1962; and again in Detroit in 1863.

John 's brother William (1810-1877) had son Newman A. Eastlick (1837-1865) who served as Pvt with
Co. G, 4th MI Inf from 1862 until his death on 28 April 1865 while homeward bound after release from
Andersonville Prison. He was one of about 310 Michigan soldiers lost on the Riverboat Sultana when
it's boilers exploded on the Mississippi near Memphis. Another of William's sons,  Wilder Eastlick
(1843-1907), at 18, enlisted in Co. A, 13th MI Inf in 1862. He was mustered out as a Sergeant on  25 July
1865 at Louisville, KY. He lived in Lake Ridge, MI,  at that time.
